ITEM DESCRIPTION:

This outstanding LP from Erato (NUM 75316 / RC 350, French pressing, white/green label, DDD stereo) features Martha Argerich glittering account of Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain, sumptuously recorded with conductor Daniel Barenboim and the Orchestre de Paris at the Salle Pleyel, Paris, on 7 February 1986.

Filling out the disc, and set down by Barenboim and the Orchestre de Paris during the same session is an evocative renditon of Albeniz’s Iberia, in the colorful transcription made by Enrique-Fernández Arbós.

These sessions were produced by Michel Garcin and engineered by John Chatauret. There are superb liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Enrique Franco, printed in French, English, and German. The striking cover photo was taken by Jean-Louis Mennesson.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the still-sealed jacket is EXCELLENT. There is minor corner wear, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, owners' markings or other defects, and the whole remains extremely solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.

The condition of the LP is near-MINT and playback is superb – overall, a truly fine collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
