Description
ARGO ZDA148: NORMA WINSTONE 'Edge Of Time'
UK jazz rarity from 1972, the first album by this vocalist, who established herself as a leading figure of UK jazz during the late-60's/ear;ly 70's. Here the soloists, in groups of varying size accompanying her, include Kenny Wheeler (tp), Paul Rutherford/Malcom Griffiths (tb) and Alan Skidmore (ts/fl). The rhythm section consisted of John Taylor (p), Chris Lawrence (b) and Tony Levin (d). This is an UK 1st Decca stereo pressing with yellow/silver printing and logo label. As far as I know, there was no mono pressing of this item.
Side 1 'Edge Of Time'/'Perkins Landing'/'Enjoy This Day'
Side 2 'Erebus'/'Songs For A Child'/'Shadows'/'Song Of Love'
CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: The disc is E+ (VG++) with some very light scratches/scuffs only, visible under a bright 'grading' light. The cover is E (VG+), with some edge rubbing, particularly along the bottom seam. There is also very minor corner damage and slight surface creasing/shadowing.
