Over the next few weeks, as I have time to evaluate them, I'm going to be listing two fabulous collections of mostly rock tapes, with some quality pop and the folk and jazz fringes represented.
Many of these tapes are at the upper end of the price scale; they get described as rare. Most are not, but they're in very high demand in good condition, driving prices up, I suspect for the very good reason that it's a completely different experience listening to used tapes compared to most used records. What a delight listening to these essentially noiseless tapes.
All have been played on both sides on a quality deck, checking for sound quality, good winding and no tape edge issues.
Tapes will be shipped properly packaged, either Media Mail or Priority Mail at your choice. Additional tapes cost 50c each by Media and $1 by Priority. Please also be assured that these valuable tapes will be insured at my expense.

Arlo Guthrie's Washington County is from 1970 and features an array of West Coast musicians of the day, including one of my heroes, Ry Cooder on slide guitar. In some ways this is rather more polished that you might expect from Guthrie the folk musician, but a great album nonetheless and I can't find any sign of one of these coming on the market on tape in the last couple of years. Unlike most tapes described as rare, this one really is!
It's on Reprise RST 6411 B, recorded in stereo at 3 3/4 ips.
