ART BLAKEY & THE JAZZ MESSENGERS INDESTRUCTIBLE! Blue Note BST 84193
Up for auction is a stone original U.S. Blue Note NY Stereo (Liberty) pressing (1966) of Art Blakey's, "Indestructible!". Fantastic Hard Bop with a bit of a darker, serious side. One of the last recordings (Spring 1964) by this classic sextet (at the peak of their playing careers). Lee Morgan is absolutely stunning on this. Wayne Shorter would within a few months join up with Miles Davis. ALL ORIGINAL PRESSINGS ARE LIBERTY (as the lp was initially released 2 years after the session). Early ones (like this) have original non-liberty covers, and the NY labels (and the 27 years printed inner).
DEAD WAX INFO: BNST - 84193 A etched on Side 1 run-out and BNST - 84193 B etched on Side 2 run-out. Both Sides have VAN GELDER stamped into the run-out. Stone original Stereo Blue Note press (1966). VINYL VISUAL: VG+ and WAY better with a couple of minor marks. Labels show scant play, maybe 2 or 3 times max. Could probably use a cleaning for dust removal.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: NM AT BEST with very little noise. Could use a cleaning, which might elevate this even more, as any noise seems to be related to minor dust pops. VERY low noise level on lead-ins and between tracks. A GREAT player with that bright, LOUD Blue Note early Liberty sound.
COVER VISUAL: VG+ at best with little wear, but some chipping starting seams/spines. Very slight musty smell.
COMES WITH ORIGINAL Blue Note PRINTED 27 YEARS INNER in GOOD SHAPE (seam splits and slightly yellowing).

Play grade is done on a Thorens TD 165 through Yamaha amplification and JBL reference headphones (treble set high so there will be no surprises when you get the item).
ALL ITEMS WILL BE SHIPPED WITH PROPER MAILERS AND EXTRA PADDING, PARTICULARLY AT THE CORNERS. I HAVE MADE FAR TOO MANY PURCHASES ON EBAY WHERE THE ITEM HAS ARRIVED WITH DINGED CORNERS DUE TO INADEQUATE PACKAGING MATERIAL. BY USING FOLDED BUBBLE WRAP IN ALL FOUR CORNERS, YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF AN ITEM WITHOUT DINGED CORNERS (OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND FOR THAT MATTER). Non-tracked shipping throughout the U.S.A will be $13 CANADIAN per item, as will tracked shipping within Canada. Tracked shipping to the U.S.A. will be $16 CANADIAN for items under 500g, and slightly more for items over 500g. Most single sleeve items can be shipped as under 500g. Gatefolds and multi-sets will be over 500g.
Being a reasonable person, I will be absorbing ALL of the shipping material cost, and some of the actual postage cost.

I do offer full refunds (excluding cost to get it back to me), on any item that is not satisfactory. SINCE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE (Thank You Canada Post), I will rarely list gatefolds or multi-items for sale overseas. IF ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA IS CRAZY INTERESTED IN ANY ITEM, I WILL QUOTE SHIPPING ON REQUEST. Since a lot of the stuff that I will be selling is of higher end quality, rarely will things be offered overseas. Sorry folks. Again, I can consider requests on an item-by-item basis.
