Description

This is a find!!! I obtained this (and other collectible 45's) in a box at an estate tag sale way down in the Scenic Southeastern part of the Great State of Illinois.

This record is a puzzle.

The artist recorded under two names (Art Ontario and Art Buchanan) and on different labels: Crusade, Flame, Dixie, Illinois and Lost Gold. There is a significant gap between the time of this record (1959) and the Lost Gold (1992, 1993).

My Jerry Osborne's Official Price Guide to Records indicates the artist recorded this record in 1959 as Art Ontario on the Dixie label as Dixie #823. The title is listed in Osborne as "Queen of Bowling Green" versus "Queen From Bowling Green" as shown on the actual record. Also, the label shows the record as being recorded by Art Buchanan with the Pioneers not Art Ontario as Osborne has it!

To add to the mystery there was a copy of this artist's Illinois label recording #725 in the same box which he recorded as Art Ontario! I am also listing the Illinois record at this time.

Am selling this record (Dixie 823) with a low starting bid but am holding a reserve set at the lower end of the collectible value range of the record.

I do not do buy it now or end my auctions early.

Am including photos from Osborne's book for the artist both as Buchanan and Ontario.

Record is from 1959 and is in good condition.

I give it a grade of 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being mint. There is light to moderate scratching and smudging.

It plays with a lot of background noise from the scratching.

Record has a collectible value range of $150-$250.
