Description

Original and rare deep-groove pressing of Art Farmer "Farmer's Market" on the yellow and black labels of Prestige 8203. This record is invariably seen in its purple label New Jazz pressing; however, the very first records on the Prestige 8200 series were, in fact, yellow label pressings which, shortly thereafter, were renamed the New Jazz Series and given a new label design. The playing surface is in beautiful condition, with a bright sheen: there is a single ¼" inaudible, superficial mark on Side B; otherwise, the record appears to have been played, at most, once or twice. The laminated cover, with the rare "Prestige 8023" catalogue number nearly immaculate - bright and clean throughout -with sharp corners and perfect seams; just the previous owner's name stamped in the white space at the top of the back. Personnel includes Hank Mobley, Kenny Drew and Elvin Jones.
