Description
This is a very early, if not original pressing of ‘Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section’ on Contemporary. The pressing is mono, and the personnel is Art Pepper with Red Garland, P Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones. The label has deep grooves on both sides. The backslick has a red text box and writing- the first pressing more than likely is the blue box/text, but there is some dispute about this within the community. The record and sleeve have been graded according to the Goldmine Standard, which is linked at bottom. Cover is EX: there is a faint mark on Art Pepper’s face on the front, and a name in pen on back. (Shown in pictures). Corners and seams are all intact. Record is VG- (minus) :Many many many marks. Many scuffs. Record plays with many ticks and pops and surface noice...there are no skips and no wear or distortion. https://www.goldminemag.com/collector-resources/record-grading-101
