A recorded document of an exhibition of conceptual art at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art in 1969. The exhibition was comprised of works that were constructed at the MCA using instructions from the artists which were transmitted by telephone. The LP documents these phone calls. Fascinating and increasingly rare multiple.

Condition/Jacket: does not include the original jacket - original paper sleeve only (my understanding is that a number of these were produced without jackets, while others were additional vinyl copies for which jackets were not printed - please don't quote me on this...it might be the stuff of urban legend!)

Condition/Vinyl: VG+ with some storage wear, mild surface noise.

Notes: I was given this - and another copy - while I was on the staff of the MCA Chicago in the mid-1990s (in the old building, if you know what this means), during a purge of the museum bookstore's storage area.

Grading, Handling, and Packing

I grade conservatively and play-grade most titles. All records are usually shipped as follows: (A) in proper record boxes; (B) with cardboard inserts; (C) in new polythene sleeves; and yes (D) I ship LPs with the vinyl in its inner sleeve, packed outside of the jacket. Further, I (E) replace all plain paper sleeves with new polythene sleeves (original sleeves are, of course, shipped with the record where present); and (F) I try to ship clean vinyl: at minimum your record will be cleaned with a carbon fiber brush before shipping unless it is NM or better, and I clean many records on a Nitty Gritty machine before play-grading. Equally safe variations on these points will be used, depending on the format, size, and specific packing requirements of the final package. I like clean, I like safe, I like you.

Shipping: US Buyers

For US buyers, I ship via USPS Media Mail at the flat rate of $4.00. This flat fee includes the packing and handling listed above. elivery confirmation (and insurance in some cases) is covered by the flat fee. I combine shipping at actual cost, again using Media Mail for US buyers unless Priority Mail is more cost-effective. You can always let me know if you'd like another shipping method and I will accommodate, at actual cost.

Shipping: Non-US Buyers

International buyers: PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL I SEND YOU THE INVOICE WITH THE FINAL CHARGES based on the final weight of the package.

For non-US buyers, shipping is at actual cost, normally using USPS First Class International. You are welcome to request any other form of shipment at actual cost. Please note that First Class International level is very cost-effective, but it does NOT allow for tracking or insurance. I am usually able to track a package through to your customs service, but I will not be able to track the package once it is in your country. I reserve the right to add registered mail for tracking purposes to certain countries (Italy, Russia, Turkey, Greece, and others). I will provide you with the actual costs of these two options when I contact you after the auction has concluded.  

If you are new to this stuff, shipping a single LP to the UK or Europe using standard USPS First Class International can be anywhere between $12 and $20, depending on the weight, packing material, etc.
