On offer here is a first press Stereo copy of The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown by Arthur Brown, released on the Track record label in 1968, catalogue number 613005.
This was Arthur's first album, he went on to do many more with Kingdom Come and also guested with Hawkwind. Vincent Crane plays keyboards and co wrote some tracks on the album, and he later went on to form Atomic Rooster.
The single front laminated sleeve is conservatively rated as in Excellent minus condition, with a few creases in the laminate, but it has no laminate lifting, rips tears or writing. There is no shelfwear on any edge and the spine is square with all writing intact. There are some tiny points of wear on the tips of the corners.
The vinyl has a glossy mirror like shine to both sides, with a few light marks, caused by the removal of the record from it's paper inner, which I have replaced with a polylined one. I cleaned the vinyl on my VPI Record Cleaning Machine before playing it all the way through on my system ( Gyrodek, SME Series IV, Naim Pre Amp and Twin Mono Amps, B & W Nautilus Speakers) at high volume. The sound quality is terriffic as you would expect from a first press. There are no pops, clicks or any other unwanted noises and it is silent between tracks, rated Excellent Plus.
The matrix numbers are 613005 A 1 1 and 613005 B 1 1.
The matt black Track labels are clean with some light spindle marks on each side.
This album sold in tiny numbers maily on the back of the "Fire" single, and is becoming increasingly difficult to find a decent copy, let alone one in this great condition, and is highly recommended.
The record will be sent outside of it's sleeve in a polythene cover sandwiched between two 12" cardboard stiffeners in a heavy duty record mailing envelope,made by Covers 33.
