Description
Arthur Verocai
The debut album by musician, composer, arranger and conductor Arthur Verocai is a Brazilian music classic. Released in 1972, the album was produced with total autonomy by Verocai, who spent a month in a studio in Rio de Janeiro with an orchestra composed of a variety of instruments. The lyrics were written by the São Paulo poet Vitor Martins.
The album is a mix of musical styles, including samba, soul, jazz and classical music. The songs are complex and sophisticated, but also melodic and accessible. The album is considered one of the most important of Brazilian music and was rediscovered by a new generation of listeners in the 2000s.
This Três Selos Paralelo 2nd Boxset reissue was remastered from the original tapes and features excellent sound. The insert was produced and organized by Charles Gavin, with a new presentation text signed by him, another text signed by Tárik de Souza, the transcription of the entire content of the "Som do Vinil" program edition, with Verocai, and an exclusive chat organized by Gavin where the musician and producer Kassin and the conductor themselves break down the album track by track.
The reissue also includes:
- Beige Colored LP
- Gatefold (double) hard cover
- 48-page booklet (produced and organized by Charles Gavin)
- 2 posters
- Fac-simile of 6 original sheets
- 16 photos (16x25cm) from recording session
