Review:
Nach Jahren des Dornröschenschlafs wollen ASPHYX es echt nochmal wissen: fette Reunionshow beim Party.san Open Air 2007 mit viel Krachbumm, tolles Comeback-Album namens »Death…The Brutal Way« und jetzt noch die erste DVD in der Bandgeschichte! Da man ja heutzutage nicht einfach "nur" eine simple DVD mit einem Konzert drauf rausbringt (außer, man heißt IMMORTAL und darf das), bieten auch Martin van Drunen und Co. rund um ihre tolle Show im Essener Turock 2009 noch eine einstündige, sehr informative Banddoku (genannt "Death"), und dann noch eine gute Dreiviertstunde Bonusmaterial (genannt "Doom") mit Livematerial vom u.a. Hammer of Doom-Festival und dem With Full Force, ganz altes Livezeugs von 1990/1991 und Promovideos. Ach so, und eine Doppel-Live-CD ist auch noch dabei! Mit »Live Death Doom« dürfte das Thema ASPHYX also sowohl für alte als auch neue Fans erschöpfend abgeknuspert sein, und das mit sehr viel Detailverliebtheit und ansprechendem Aufwand – eine schön oldschoolige Sache, die einen über 5 Stunden hervorragend unterhält.
