Assorted desecrations and magnificent mutations (Phantom Records sampler)

Rare OZ Giveaway only LP released in 1988 on Phantom Records. Cat: PHLP4. Comes with printed insert which is in Near Mint condition. Features open foldout cover. This album was a giveaway release at the Phantom Records tenth anniversary bash on october 14th 1988.

Phantom Records was opened by Dare Jennings in Sydney in 1978 selling the latest punk and new wave 7” singles, and rare second hand vinyl. Jules Normington became a partner soon after and in 1980 the two launched the Phantom record label to release singles by some of their favourite local bands. The first Phantom single was Girlfriend’s Boyfriend by The Passengers followed a week later by the Surfside 6 with Cool In The Tube. Over the next three years the label released almost twenty singles featuring a cross section of the diverse sounds that were flourishing at the time. The singles came rapid fire and there was barely a chance to get your head around one before the next was on the shelves. This is the second Phantom records sampler. On this LP we have the second wave of Phantom artists covering tracks from the first wave of artists..

Tracks: Vanilla Chainsaws - Average inadequacy/ Shrinking Violets - Love to rule/ Mark Of cain - Seein’ double/ Hummingbirds - Leilani/ Shrinking Violets - Take me away/ Hummingbirds - It’s just that I miss you/ vanilla Chainsaws - Ten years on/ mark Of Cain - Journey by sledge/ Deadly Hume - I hate you.

Record has a few light scuff marks and is in Excellent condition. Cover is in Near Mint condition.
