domestic $ 6 each additional $ 1.Oh boy, you have dived deep into the Japanese underground if you are even reading this review. Astlla is a band that perhaps a thousand people have ever listened too. The four musicians have been inspired by the colourful effect.Oh, you want to know what the music sounds like? Well, it's not as strange as the band's name, logo, extended play title, song titles and cover artwork. The group plays melodic heavy metal with occasional speedy power metal passages with glam rock vibes. The quartet had basically hopped onto the Visual Kei bandwagon around commercially successful groups such as Buck Tick, Dead End and X Japan. On the positive side, the most remarkable thing about this release is the excellent melodic guitar play that comes along with speedy riffs, passionate solos but also heartfelt power ballad inspiration. The best song of the bunch is the vivid opener ''It's a So Bad Day!'' with its opening drum solo, bumblebee bass guitar attacks, vibrant riffs and passionate vocals. Closing power ballad ''Come On and Feel the Rock & Dirty Games'' is also rather decent thanks to excellent guitar play and a catchy chorus that should please to fans of groups like Guns 'n' Roses. The other tunes are exchangeable, forgettable and inoffensive.In the end, Astlla's Brain? No', No'! Know!? is a curious oddity and quite entertaining Great stuff here, Astlla are one of those really weird super talented. This was recorded in a studio in the back of a bar in Osaka, and distributed by Mandrake Root Records (of course! they have some of the best Japanese metal bands). Pretty rare, enjoy
