Description

Asva / Burning Witch picture disk split 12"!
The incredibly rare picture disk split by Asva and Burning Witch. As you can see from the picture, the split comes in an elaborate packaging. Asva's track is titled Caprichos 1-80 and it features Dylan Carlson (from Earth) on guitar. The Burning Witch track is the legendary Rift.Canyon.Dreams, which, as far as I know, has never been officially released anywhere else. A true gem. Stuart Dahlquist, the main force behind Asva, released this vinyl split on his own Dos Fatales label in 2004, in a limited run of just 475 copies! Needless to say, the pressing has long since been sold out and is a true treasure. I recently received a copy of the record with a larger trade, and since I already had a copy, I decided to sell this one. This copy is new and unplayed!

The hand-silkscreened, custom cut & hand-folded covers are closed with a hand-made cardboard obi strip. The 12" record is a picture disk. See pictures of both sides of the wax and the silkscreening on the inside of the covers below.

Condition
The record is new and has never been played, so it is naturally in impeccable condition. The covers have a few very tiny dents - after all, the covers are made of hand-folded thin cardboard stock - but, all in all, the record is absolutely wonderful, new condition.

Update: May 19th
This just in, straight from the horse's mouth: Stuart Dahqluist from Asva/Dos Fatales has let me know (see the question Stuart aka eBay member Bootsykronos sent me below) that this particular copy I have for sale, which, unlike the normal copies, is unnumbered and comes with a brown, non-silkscreened band/obi, is, apparently, much more rarer than than the standard, numbered edition. According to Stuart, only "a few" of these were shipped out.

I did not mention the differences between this copy and the standard one simply because I didn't remember that the copies are supposed to be numbered and that the band should be red with silkscreening! I have now compared the copy I have for sale to the one I already had and the obi/band is indeed of a completely different colour (deep brown vs. crimson red), without the silkscreening and this copy is not numbered. So there you have it, the copy I have for sale here is significantly rarer than the standard issue of 475 copies. Otherwise this copy is identical with the normal ones.

Update: May 20th
I just received this message from Stuart Dahlquist:

Ahhhh... you have one of the 75 copies I made up from the over run at the pressing company. I sold them to half a dozen distros in EU/UK. You might want to put this on your listing just in case anyone is wondering!
Best,
Stuart

So there you have it, this copy I have for sale is one of only 75 copies, and it has only been available in the EU.
