Description
I am selling off a few of my rare and collectible original UK first pressing vinyl albums to supplement a house move. It's sad to see them go but the money will come in useful. Grading records is subjective so to avoid confusion I have adopted the Record Collector magazine’s Grading Guide to describe the condition and I have also play-checked each album, so you can be confident about buying. The pictures are also of the actual album you are bidding on.
Atomic Rooster "In Hearing Of"
An Original 1971 UK 1st Pressing Vinyl LP on the Pegasus record label in the gate-fold sleeve
NEAR MINT Condition (see description and notes below)
Description and Track List
This album (catalogue no. PEG 1) is an original 1971 UK first pressing in near mint condition. It has been so well preserved because it has rarely been played and the whole album has been stored in a protective plastic sleeve since new.
Atomic Rooster will always be remembered as one of the bands that shaped the heavy metal scene in the early 70s, and this, their third and last great album is as tasty and memorable as any album released by a British hard rock group of that era. For this album the band tapered their sound a bit. Much less bombastic than earlier releases, it’s almost funky at times, but it still manages to pack a punch and stand out from the crowd in the heavy prog genre. If you’re into hard, heavy, or prog rock then you’ll find this a very enjoyable album and a ‘definite’ for your collection.
Note: First pressings of this album are becoming increasingly scarce and are highly collectible, especially when in near mint condition as this one is.

Condition (using Record Collector Magazine grading)
I have tried to provide good quality large pictures of the album and sleeves. Please take the time to click through them and satisfy yourself of the quality of this LP. The pictures should speak for themselves.
Vinyl = NEAR MINT: The record has hardly ever been played and the album has been stored in a protective plastic sleeve since new. I would have described it as mint, but under very bright light I can just make out one or two faintest marks on the vinyl surface. I have play-tested the album and there is absolutely no deterioration in sound quality and it’s a very good pressing too, with very little background noise.
Cover = NEAR MINT: The cover sleeve is almost perfect. There is just the very slightest fading and odd mark consistent with the age of the album. I have bought brand new albums with covers in worse condition though!
Note
The record will be very well packaged and sent Royal Mail Small Parcel, which is the cheapest option.
I do combine postage too, only ever charging at cost, so please check out my other records. Over the next month or two I will be selling several hundred albums including other very rare and collectible items of the same genre.
I am quite happy to wait for payment to allow you to bid on multiple items. Just send me a message to let me know.
If you do buy more than one album don’t pay until I send you an eBay invoice with the adjusted postage.
Overseas bidders welcome.
Any other questions? Please ask.
Happy bidding and good luck!
