Lincoln Mayorga & Distinguished Colleagues

This is the very first Direct to Disc album by Lincoln Mayorga recorded from studio directly to master disc. It was done way back in 1968 as something of an experiment, and as such; was done in very small qualities 

1971 Sheffield (SL2-9/SL1-4) Laboratory Series
This is the Sheffield S9! Yes the S9. One of the Rarest and hardest to find of the Direct Disc LPs. This is NOT "Lincoln Mayorga and Distinguished Collegues-Volume III".
This is the one with the cutting lathe on the front. This is the legendary S9, a limited edition- limited because no tape recorder used. As a results each master can make a few mother discs and each mother can press a few LPs, and when worn out they are done. 
What do you get here that you might not find on just any old S9? Deep, tight, note-like bass; huge punchy drums; super-clear transients; incredible dynamics; big-time life and energy just to get you started.

A true collectors item and fantastic music also. 
I did see this recording priced over $500 by a boutique audiophile outfit.
