Description
Proprius
Antiphone Blues.
Arne Domnerus
PROPRIUS is the label that gave us Jazz at the Pawnshop.
Arne Domnerus was leader and saxophonist on Jazz at the Pawnshop.
This was his next project.
The instruments are the saxophone, a pipe organ and a church. Yes, a church.
Domnerus plays blues accompanied by pipe organ in a church with an amazing acoustic.
The reverberation time is so long that Domnerus plays harmony with himself!
If you're a fan of "hearing in" to a three dimensional acoustic space hologram, if you're a fan of low level spacial detail and if you have the equipment, this one will raise the hair on your neck.
If you don't have that equipment, it's still a damn fine jazz record.
Long out of print.

Hello, I'm a retired recording engineer selling a lifetime collection of Audiophile recordings.
I had access to great Ampex recorders and most of my new recordings were played a few times on a Rockport table / arm / Grasshopper cartridge combo and then taped.
My ratings are conservative.
To be conservative I will this one at Mint-. No sign of play. IMHO no record which has been played can be called mint.
The cover is mint-, some age discoloration
