Description
This 1967 single from the Sonobeat label, a studio in Austin, Texas, was one of their commercial successes for the year 1967. The following comment about the band can be found on the allmusic.com website (we cut and pasted the information below):
"Austin, TX, psych outfit the Lavender Hill Express formed in 1966 -- something of a local supergroup, the founding lineup teamed former Baby Cakes guitarists Layton DePenning and Leonard Arnold with erstwhile Wig bassist Jess Yaryan and drummer Rusty Wier, along with keyboardist John Schwertner, formerly of the Reasons Why. Roughly a year following its inception, the Lavender Hill Express signed with the local Sonobeat label to cut its debut single, "Visions." An elaborate production by indie label standards, the song's rich vocal harmonies were complemented by a string quartet comprised of members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra. "
The record for sale here is one of three the group made under the Sonobeat label. It has the songs "Visions" and "Trying to Live a Life". It is in unused condition, the record has no flaws, the sleeve showing some marks due to handling over the years, and some yellowing of the paper also because of age.
We have all three Lavender Hill Express records, that we will be selling one by one. This is the first one we are listing. The other two records are "Watch Out" (also with its picture sleeve), and then "Outside My Window", with a regular plain sleeve. All three records are in unused condition.
