redgarnett Store ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This lovely LP from Philips (835 073 AY, Dutch pressing, plum/silver bold letter label – note the “Hi-Fi Stereo” logo appears on the jacket only – not on the LP itself, stereo) features the crack Italian ensemble I Musici in a brilliant mixed program, recorded at the Aula de magna, Rome, on 21 October 1960.
These performances can withstand the most exalted comparison and Philips analog sound is of the very finest quality – warm and vibrant – just like the playing.
Their exact program is as follows:
W.A. Mozart: Divertimento No. 2 in B-flat Major K. 137
W.A. Mozart: Divertimento No. 3 in F Major K. 138
Tommaso Giordani: Harpsichord Concerto in C Major
> with Maria Theresa Garratti, harpsichord
Franz Joseph Haydn: Violin Concerto No. 1 in C Major H 7a No. 1
> with Felix Ayo, violin
Note: Ayo plays the cadenza written by Vittorio Negri Bryks.
There are fine liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in German only. The striking cover photo was taken by Arjé Plas.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is VERY GOOD-. There is a small tear to the lower-left corner, as well as shelfwear and discoloration to the rear panel. However, there are no seamplits, bends, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the whole remains solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive – overall, a very good collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is near-MINT. Although surfaces are not absolutely silent (and thus I have rated it NM vs. MINT) this is a fine copy and playback is superb. If you must have perfect surfaces, then please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as a NM collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
