Description

This is a near mint condition, very rare, white label LP test pressing B52's "Wild Planet". It was manufactured by Warner Brothers Records in 1980. Test pressings were made in advance of regular pressings for quality control purposes. They were very selectively distributed to record label V.I.P.s and the artist and their management for approval. Very few were produced and most copies were destroyed. They were never made available to the general public. The labels are white with the following printed on them: "Available Only To Technical And Other Authorized Personnel For The Limited Purpose Of Testing And Review". The record comes in a white cardboard jacket. Taped on the front of the jacket is the original label copy that has the track listings and production information.  Also written in black ink is the catalog number "BSK - 3471". It has had one owner, a former record company executive who has had it filed away since 1980.
