Crickey !  This is going to be tricky to describe

Babe Ruth ‘s Second Album . Babe Ruth were from Hatfield UK. This is arranged produced and largely written by and performed by multi instrumentalist Alan Shacklock with some very strong female vocals from

Janita Haan. Chris Holmes plays Keyboards, Dave Hewitt Bass, Ed Spevock Drums and percussion - with a whole host of guest musicians !

As it on Harvest - EMI’s Progressive Rock  outlet label  that’s what I expected - instead this covers so many styles I got thoroughly bewildered   -  There is pastoral orchestration ,frantic jazz funk - Spanish guitar interludes - fierce Stoned  blues , brief moments that sound like Barry White, then in  an instant more like John Barry . Lots of flute - Heavy thumping Prog rock- like Led Zeppelin fronted by Suzi Quatro - An accoustic floaty jazz track , a weird version of mod Classic Cool Jerk - then ‘Doctor Love’ Which sounds like Sly and the Family Stone meets the B- 52s. And to finish off the title track - which starts as an acid folk ballad which mutates into a spanish guitar idyll then into A Santana-like epic and back to an acoustic lullaby to end .

Slightly mad and pretty exhausting album !

One of the rarest albums on the increasingly collectible HARVEST LABEL  .

Condition 

Sleeve JUST UNDER EXCELLENT - there is a small mark in top right corner and mild signs of wear on lower edges  a little rubbing on front and rear lower edge and some  light ring wear on rear sleeve . 

Vinyl    EXCELLENT - There a  few very light paper scuff

marks caused by taking the disc in and out of the inner sleeve -

 with one or two  occasional lightly audible pops on both sides .
