Description
Another of the rare recordings by Kavichandran Alexander, BACH Flute Sonatas features Gary Woodward on flute, Grant Gershon on harpsichord, and Roger Lebow on cello, here playing the six flute sonatas of J. S. Bach.
The music session was recorded at Hancock Auditorium, U.S.C., in Los Angeles, utilizing only tube electronics, Blumlein arrangement of the microphones, no augmentation whatsoever, the eventual pressing using only the finest premium vinyl at RTI.
Note, as you listen to this trio “speak,” that the marvel of it all stems from Kavi’s meticulous placement of the microphones and his monitoring through both Nelson Reed 8-04/B Studio Monitors and Jacklin Float electrostatic headphones.
The end result is quite startling and about as close as you can come on records to actually attending the musical event. On a state-of-the-art hi-fi system, this record is a jaw dropper, to say the very least.
An extraordinary record, among few that can deliver as it does, here in a cover without fault; record inside is near mint.
Entirely worthy of the finest vinyl library.
