ARGUABLY BTO's best...totally massive guitar crushing on this one with the toons to match. The title track is a masterclass in bare bones mid seventies hard rock with gruff vocals, pummeling rhythm, sharp as razor riffing and a hook to die for. 'Rock Is My Life And This Is My Song' tells the tale of rock 'n'roll obsessiveness, whilst 'Roll On Down The Highway' leads the charge in hit single driven BTO, kicked into touch only by the universally better known 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet'.
I saw the band play at the Hammersmith Odeon in London around this time (with a three piece Thin Lizzy opening!) and they played all these tracks and more including the ball crusher 'Sledgehammer' which opens side two.
It's true, every song on this album is a killer - no filler. Randy Bachman went out of his way to construct the ultimate hard rock opus and he just about pulled it off. Next to Montrose and Foghat I can't think of another similar sounding album carrying the same metallic weight. It's a guitar jamboree from beginning to end.
Highly reccommended.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks on label and no other signs of use. Grades as a very nice and clean shop fresh MINT-!
Cover: Virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated gate fold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is totally straight, stiff and uncrushed. Grades as top shop fresh MINT-!
