INCREDIBLE ALBUM from this British progressive jazz rock band - a three pice red hot muso unit with the crystal method of turning base jazz rock into super cooled turbo charged prog. Bassist Colin Hodgkinson is a monster whilst Alto Sax man Ron Aspery blows the roof off the joint with his wailing Mile Davis inspired solos. Put them in a room with drummer Tony Hicks and you've got one of the best ever fusion combos ever created. Every musical boundary trounced, every cliche sent packing and all cross border checks are suspended as Back Door drive the message home like Pete Doherty at the wheel of a sports car out of his head on crack cocaine.

The album kicks off with a brilliant rendition of Ledbetter's 'Livin' Track', a better interpretation you could not wish to hear. Other blues standards given the Bcak Door treatment include is '32-20 Blues', originally written and performed by Robert Johnson, 'Roberta' witten by Ledbetter and 'Walkin' Blues' another track written by Robert Johnson.

The album is produced by Mountain bassist Felix Pappalardi so you can be rest assured that the rock quotent is not that far from sight.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
