BAND'S HARMONY UST 7019 - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp music by CHIESA / FABIANO / MOMPELLIO / BANFI / SVIDANIA / CHIPLIN / FERRARESI / CARRARA. Original Italian pressing on the USIGNOLO label (UST 7019), from 1979. Obscure and unusual Library session from the desirable 7000 series. This one is on a typically sleazy lounge tip of the period with tropical moods / psychedelic disco / lo-fi synthesizers and exotic hippie B-movie nuances from carefree and playful to darker, slightly more disturbing atmospheres ;) Eclectic rhythms and cinematic sounds from a mysterious studio group. Similar vibe to a Joe D'Amato skinflick with afro percussion / Goblin inspired bass and stoned funky guitar shredding no doubt by Sergio Ferraresi and Max Verardi (the guitarist on the Augusto Martelli - Black Sound From White People recording / Alberto Baldan Bembo UST 177 Library). These ever inventive Librarians even squeeze in spaghetti western / UK Hammer House Of Horror / zombie funk / Cabildos latin and exotic soft porn style filmic motifs a la Umiliani (groovy marimba / oriental bells / odd time signatures with piano etc). Our soundclip opens with an atmospheric sample of crashing waves and moody keyboard pads from the intro of VENTO BLU followed by several intoxicating themes from the buzzing guitar distortions of STAND BY and TAM BIRD / the drifting ambience of RICHIAMO D'AMORE to the killer exotic lounge funk and seductive female scat of ANTILLE. The spaced-out disco beats / synthesizers and basslines of FOTOMONTAGE and MEGALOPOLI (with boom bap - hip hop tempo drums) are also great for DJs looking for something different. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition with some faint hairlines / mini scuffs and some old pressing residue marks. Loud production sound. Some light surface noises. A few soft pops / soft ticks in places (as you can hear on our soundclip). The soft card sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with general ring wear and ring dirt marks from storage. Some creasing / rub marks / old sticker tear to back sleeve (see photo). Light corner wear in places. Still quite a sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. The sleeve is actually lime green in reality. Rare Library Lp!!!
