Description
Here we have a monster of a monster Baris Manco single!! This is one record you won't be able to see around since it was withdrawn by court order right after it was released!! The two tunes on the 45 were actually recorded way back in late 60s, around 1967-68 but was shelved by Manco since he found the recording to be too "sloppy" for release (hence its cool inept atmopshere!) but in early 1972 when he was leaving his long term company "Sayan", this ill-willed label released this single without his permission. The tunes had never seen light of day before and at that time Manco's musical style and public face had changed considerably than that of late 60s and he was hugely popular in Turkey with definite guarantee of high record sales of whatever he puts out! Manco acted very swiftly and had ALL the discs in the shops and warehouses collected and destroyed by court order; so the only remaining copies of this record are the ones that arrived at the shops and bought by the fans at the first 7 to 10 days of its release! That's why, although released at a time when his sales were at the top, this is one of his top rarities! Both sides are incredible Anatolian takes on freakbeat, complete with the guitars and drums loud in the mix, and would both be devastating on the dancefloor! A-Side is Kizilciklar, B-Side is I'll Go Crazy, where Baris evens sings in English and almost sounds like Rockabilly! Baris Manco - Kizilciklar/I'll Go Crazy - Sayan FS 171 - Turkish 45 Its rarity aside, it's a great disc and not be missed if you are even remotely interested in Turkish psych!! Cover is EX with a slight seam spilt on the top right hand corner of the sleeve. Disc is a bright shiny EX on both sides.
