GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : Barney Kessel è stato un formidabile chitarrista jazz. Qui è con Carlo Pes, anche lui un virtuoso della chitarra, in un album con loro composizioni. Dodici tracce suonate esclusivamente dalle chitarre dei due musicisti. Come suggerito dal titolo dell'album le belle atmosfere sonore sono piacevolmente rilassanti con un moderato sviluppo ritmico. Fanno eccezione solo tre brani: "Good Brothers" (a3) con un aggressivo riff, "Runnin' Notes" (b3) e "Hummin' Dobro" (b5) con eccellenti spunti blueseggianti.

Notes : Barney Kessel was a terrific jazz guitarist. He is along with Carlo Pes, another guitar virtuoso artist, in an album with their compositions. Twelve tracks played exclusively by the guitars of the two musicians. As suggested by the title of the album the captivating sound atmospheres are pleasantly relaxing with a moderate rhythmic development. There are only three exceptions: "Good Brothers" (a3) by the rather aggressive riff, "Runnin' Notes" (b3) and "Hummin' Dobro" (b5) with excellent bluesy phrases.
