Recorded on November 14 & December 19, 1953, this first recording for Contemporary Records features Barney Kessel on guitar, Bud Shank on Also and flute, Arnold Ross on piano, Harry Babasin on bass and Shelly Manne on drums. SIDE 1: EASY LIKE; TENDERLY; LULLABYE OF BIRDLAND; WHAT IS THERE TO SAY; BERNADO and VICKY’S DREAM. SIDE 2: SALUTE TO CHARLIE CHRISTIAN; THAT’S ALL; I LET A SONG GO OUT OF MY HEART; JUST SQUEEZE ME; APRIL IN PARIS and NIRTH OF THE BORDER. The liner notes has a blue line around the music and personnel. This is a MONO recording.

I’ve graded the vinyl as M- and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl is clean of any marks on both sides of the LP. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole. The vinyl still retains its original luster. The record jacket is in excellent condition, as it shows no wear on the cover or the liner notes. There are not taped seams. There is some very slight wear on the spine, and some slight wear on the lower left corner. That’s why I graded is as EX.
