ORIENTASIE / LARGO ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by THE BAROQUE JAZZ TRIO. Original French pressing on the SARAVAH (BIEM) label (SH 40 0096), from circa 1969. Unique and outstanding, spiritual jazz trio masterpiece. ORIENTASIE is the deep harpsichord jazz theme with Indian Tabla drums / oriental bells and exotic ambience. Beautiful music with complex, operatic rhythms but very infectious and enjoyable. The LARGO theme also features their trademark, Baroque jazz sound and is actually a contemporary, psychedelic jazz take on the George Frideric Handel classical aria from Xerxes aka Serse Opera. Stylish cello and jazzy breaks with leftfield bossa rim shots / harpsichord / bass and drum solos.  Both themes were only issued on this original single so do not appear on their Saravah SH 10004 Lp from 1970. Pop art sleeve design a la Robert Indiana with super-cool back sleeve photo showing the hip Trio :) Rare 45!!! Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few light hairlines from sleeve removal. Some light surface noises / soft pops. Mini pressing bubble in vinyl to 'Largo' side causes a couple of soft bumps midway. The laminated, tactile picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition overall with light general wear. Some ring creasing / corner and edge wear. No languette. Some ink fading to outer edges of front sleeve / ring dirt marks to back sleeve. Rare 45!!!
