Very Rare absolutely original Jamaican pressing on Jah Guidance of this dancehall classic. Bought it some 20 years ago.....Need I say more?

Seminal dancehall tracks from killer vocalist Barrington Levy with heavy duty support at the hands of producer Henry Junjo Lawes and the tight Roots Radics rhythm section. Recorded and released around the same time as his blistering Bounty Hunter and Shine Eye Gal sets, this excellent LP was originally issued on the Jah Guidance label at the cusp of the dancehall era. Barrington keeps things rude, raw and right over the deftly executed rhythms. Among the 10 tracks: "Wedding Ring", "Bounty Hunter", "Skylarking", "It's Not Easy", "Looking My Love", "Shine Eye Girl", "Shaolin Temple" and "Collie Weed".

Alternate version to an album elsewhere known as "Bounty hunter" or "Shine eye gal", and while all three share some tracks, each had a notably different mixdowns, different track lengths, even lyrics. This is Barrington at his earliest and rawest, straight off the back of Burning Spear and Tape Tone sound systems, with his practical invention of the dancehall genre here. If not that, he can at least stake a firm claim as the founding ruler of rub-a-dub style, and yet there's so much more to Levy's inimitable style. It contains an excellent showcase for the Roots Radics, Junjo, Scientist, King Tubby's studio sound, in all it's a real killer set.
