BASCZAX
MADISON FALLOUT/AUTO MEKANIK DESTRUKTOR
Pipeline Product : ICI ONE
Here is an EXCELLENT copy of Basczax's very rare release on the Pipeline Products label. The record dates from 1979 and is a classic example of the DIY ethic of the time. The sleeve consists of four square pieces of paper and a white paper sleeve contained in a zip fastened plastic bag. All are in very good condition with only slight creasing at the edges due to the tight fit in the bag.
Basczax were formed by Mick Todd in 1978 and were based in Teesside UK. Their first gig was at the Middlesbrough Rock Garden supporting the Rezillos and from then they played over 150 gigs around the country including a tour with OMD. Their last gig was at the Nottingham Theatre Royal, with OMD. In 1979 the band released 2 tracks on Fast Product alongside Joy Division (Karleean Photography & Celluloid Love) and also released a single on Pipeline records - 'Madison Fallout/Auto Mechanik Destruktor'. The band split in 1980. Two of the members, Alan Savage and Jeff Fogarty, formed The Flaming Mussolinis and signed to CBS records in the mid eighties.
Line Up:
Alan Savage - Vocals - guitar
Mick Todd - Bass
Jeff Fogarty - Saxophone
Alan Cornforth - Drums (ex Blitzkrieg Bop)
John Hodgson - Keyboards (ex Blitzkrieg Bop)
The record has some light surface noise, as you would expect, and plays very well with no clicks or jumps, just some minor crackles and I would grade it EXCELLENT.
All records posted in strong cardboard mailers with stiffners and sent recorded delivery for my piece of mind
