Bauhaus began life in the late 70s. By 1980, they were ready to record their music. The debut album came out, and it gave goth a chance to flourish, and pave the way for other goth bands that followed. Bauhaus also had elements of glam rock, tiny sprinkles of funk, splashes of dark 60s psychedelia, and electronic tones in their music. The first studio full length album was put out by the 4AD record label, and it turned FORTY in 2020! A reissue was released on a special goldish bronze colored vinyl remastered reissue to commemorate that special anniversary!

In 1979, before the debut album came out, Bauhaus released what is considered one of the first, (if not the first), goth singles. They called it "Bela Lugosi's Dead", and for some strange reason, it did not appear on the debut album. It came out in several vinyl versions, including a glow in the dark picture disc! (The only parts of the pic disc that actually glow in the dark is the song's title, and the band's name.) Up for grabs today is a Bauhaus double shot, featuring a NEW copy of the remastered FORTIETH anniversary bronze colored vinyl LP, as well as a glow in the dark 12" picture disc of "Bela Lugosi's Dead"! Bauhaus disbanded in '83. Singer Peter Murphy ended up with a solo career, and the other three members eventually formed the successful band Love and Rockets: Daniel Ash, David J., and Kevin Haskins.

I have made white boxers for the naked man on the album's cover, to display here on Ebay. But rest assured, he's not wearing any clothes! Lol The only flaw I see on the remastered debut album is a split, about 2.5 inches long, on the outer jacket, under the shrinkwrap. And the shrinkwrap has caused one corner to warp and curl up a bit. After you take off the shrinkwrap, the split can be fixed and hidden with a black sharpie, and the jacket can be placed under something heavy to straighten it out. You can get creative! The record itself and the insides will be in mint condition. (Stock photo showing what the vinyl looks like.) This copy has never been opened, and is still sealed!

"Bela" looks really good, but has a few light surface marks, mainly on the B side. Was probably displayed, as the A side has the only words that are glow in the dark. And yes, I tested this in the dark. It really does glow! It looks like this was released in 1988, by the band, (even though it was originally recorded in 1979). There is nothing written on either side besides the band's band's and the title track's name, on the A side. Looking it up, it appears to be "Bela" on the A side, and two tracks on the B side: ("Boys" and "Dark Entries" [demo]).
