This U.S. radio airplay copy from BBC TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES 12" vinyl long-play record (Made in England) Stereo Pop Special 31 CN1689/S (year 1972) Featuring FRAMPTON'S CAMEL in Concert (on side 1) LABI SIFFRE in Concert (on side 2). Because these transcription discs were produced exclusively for radio station broadcast and were never sold commercially. In overall very good condition thanks to the limited playback usage. Recorded Live At The Paris Theater, London, UK 1972. Side 1: 27:25 min. Side 2: 27:32 min. When Peter Frampton was labeled the Face of ’68 by Rave magazine he was with The Herd, a pop-oriented band who nevertheless produced some classy singles. In April 1969 Frampton left the Herd to form the “supergroup” Humble Pie. After four albums Frampton quit Humble Pie in October 1971 to go it alone, releasing the appropriately titled Wind of Change the following year. He then formed Frampton’s Camel to tour the US in support of his debut – their first public appearance was at The Academy of Music, New York in September 1972 supporting The J Geils Band. In December 1972 the band went into Electric Lady Studios in New York to begin recording the album that became Frampton’s Camel. Labi" Siffre is a British singer, songwriter and poet. Siffre released six albums from 1970 to 1975 and four from 1988 to 1998. So Strong" – an anti-apartheid song won Siffre the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, and it has been used in Amnesty International campaigns.
