(CN 4494) containing the programme:
VICTORY BY RADIO and
HITLER’S LEAP TO POWER
These two programmes were issued in early 1985.
VICTORY BY RADIO is a half hour programme about the four hundred day
history of AEFP (Allied Expeditionary Forces Programme) Radio
set up to serve the Allied Forces during the latter part of World War II.
It is presented by AEFP veteran JEAN METCALFE, and combines
the recollections of people who put the shows on the air, with live
performance moments by legendary figures of 20th century show business.
Some of the voices you can hear are:
GLENN MILLER, BONG CROSBY, FRANK SINATRA,
JUDY GARLAND, BOB HOPE and JIMMY DURANTE.
HITLER’S LEAP TO POWER is a half hour programme in which
DR CHRISTOPHER ANDREW looks at how Adolph Hitler took power in Germany
on 30th January 1933, and introduced the Nazi State,
and includes recollections from people who were there.
Original BBC continuity sheets and catalogue pages are included.
The outer yellow BBC record sleeve has writing on the back.
The disc plays very well. The VICTORY BY RADIO side has very
light rub marks from the paperwork that was stored against the disc.
