Description

THESE ARE VERY RARE ORIGINAL UK BBC TRANSCRIPTION ON THIS RECORD ARE : MOTT THE HOOPLE, BRINSLEY SWARTZ, AVERAGE WHITE BAND, SWEET, CHRISTOPHER RAINBOW, SPARKS AND AN INTERESTING CARL PALMER INTERVIEW. THIS DISC HAS SOME DAMAGE, READ DESCRIPTION BELOW PLEASE! MINE HAS NO CUE SHEETS! THESE LPS HAVE BEEN SITTING IN A CUPBOARD FOR 40 ODD YEARS, WITH DUST GETTING INTO THE SLEEVES AND INTO THE GROOVES. I HAVE CLEANED AND PLAYED EACH LP AND MY GRADING IS BASED ON LISTENING AS WELL AS VISUAL. SO PLEASE DON'T BID IF YOU DON'T LIKE SOME STATIC, CRACKLE OR THE OCCASIONAL POPS/CLICKS, BECAUSE MOST OF THE BBC TRANSCRIPTION LPS I WILL PUT UP FOR AUCTION DO PLAY WITH STATIC AND SOME CRACKLE AND THE OCCASIONAL POPS/CLICKS WHICH WILL VARY WITH EACH LP. BEWARE OF BLACK/WHITE LABEL BOOTLEG / COUNTERFEITS!

VINYL : ACCEPTABLE, on both sides there is damage caused I think by a reaction to the plastic liner and sweating over many years. This has put some markings on the vinyl each side. They cover about a quarter of the surface, and play into about half way through the lp both sides. When you play the lp both sides there is a loud whooshing or swishing sound to be heard over the songs an interview for about 6-7 minutes when it passes the damaged area on rotation. This passes and then it plays normally. It is not entirely distracting though. If it did not have this damage it would have been graded EXCELLENT. Also if it was not a rare BBC TRANSCRIPTION disc I would not put on for sale, but being very collectable and historic the lp still has a value to me. Still a great listen, and the rare Carl Palmer interview make it worthwhile. COVER : VERY GOOD +, these are a generic factory gatefold or single paper sleeve with a plastic liner. This one is a single sleeve. It could have some creases, bend creases and small tears and ring marks, writing and foxing, graffiti, stains etc. This sleeve has some art work!

THANKS FOR LOOKING... LABELS : EXCELLENT, a few light spindle trails. IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH MY GRADING PLEASE GET IN CONTACT WITH ME BEFORE LEAVING NEUTRAL OR NEGATIVE

RECORDS MADE FOR THE RADIO STATIONS AIRPLAY ONLY. THEY WERE SENT TO ALL COMMONWEALTH COUNTRIES, BBC, ABC (OR SIMILAR) RADIO BROADCASTERS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. THEY WERE NOT MADE IN BIG NUMBERS AND DEFINITELY NOT MADE FOR PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION. MAYBE 50 - 100 OR SO IN THE WORLD. WHAT MAKES THEM EXTREMELY DESIRABLE TO COLLECTORS IS THE FACT THAT A LOT OF THE RECORDINGS ON THE BBC TRANSCRIPTION ALBUMS ARE SONGS THE ARTISTS DID LIVE IN THE BBC STUDIOS AND ONLY FOR THAT PARTICULAR DISC AND THAT TIME ONLY, TRUE ONE OFF'S, SO THEY ARE UNHEARD GEMS THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE WILL GET AROUND TO LISTEN TO. THIS MAKES THEM VERY RARE AND WORTH HAVING, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE INTO. VERY RARELY COME UP FOR SALE, SO NOT MANY AVAILABLE TO BUY THESE DAYS. THEY ARE ALSO WELL KNOWN FOR THEIR GREAT SOUND QUALITY.
