Description

BBC Transcription LP The Byrds Reunion Special (In Concert 167)


The sleeves is in good condition with just a small trat in the centre of one- see photos  The LP has little surface noise consistent with its age

There is no cue sheet
The concert of a little under 2 hours is spread across 2 records.
Part 1 is introduced by Brian Matthew and is the Gene Clark band playing Side 1
Kansas City Southern Denver or Wherever Release Me Girl Hula Bula Man Then Chris Hillman Band playing Hot Burrito No 2 Rise and Fall
Side 2 (on first side of 2nd LP) Chris Hillman band continues with
Nothing Gets Through To You Rollin' and Tumblin' Playing The Fool Quits The Witching Hour It Doesn't Matter
Part 2 of the concert (side 2 of LP 1) Roger McGuinn plays
Lover of The Bayou American Girl Mr Spaceman Why Baby Why and Tiffany Queen Golden Loom

Part 2 of the concert continues on side 2 of the 2nd LP with Roger McGuinn playing

Then Gene Clark, Chris Hillman and Roger McGuinn join together to re-create the Byrds sound and play So You Want To Be A Rock 'n' Roill Star Mr Tambourine Man Eight Miles High

These LP's were sent to radio stations all over the world. For a fee they would be able to broadcast the programmes on the LP a number of times over a period of about 3 years denoted by the expiry date. The LP was then supposed to be destroyed or returned to the BBC in London. A number of studio / station managers or DJ's must have decided the LP's were too good to throw away!  The BBC Transcription Service boast that they supply upwards of 200 Radio stations so the print run of these LP's is probably in that order. As many Radio Stations dutifully did as the BBC asked few of these LP's survived.

I do not ship outside the U.K. and so I don't accept bids from outside the U.K.

If the item arrives damaged I refund the cost AFTER a photograph is emailed, via Ebay messaging, showing the damage (there are instances when a buyer says an item is damaged when, in reality, it arrived safely, to fraudulently obtain a refund)
