Description
Original BBC Top of the Pops transcription disc (No. 515) from September 1974. Presented by DJ Brian Mathew, this 46-minute album features a combination of session performances and recorded music from various UK pop and rock acts of the era, including two tracks apiece from 10cc and Kokomo, and one from the Rolling Stones, Bryan Ferry, Kiki Dee Band, Brian Protheroe, Hudson Ford and Paper Lace. However, the most interesting thing about it is Mathew's exclusive interview with Mick Jagger, which takes up almost half of Side Two. In it, Jagger talks about what music he's currently listening to, sneers at Bill Wyman's recent solo album and states that he can't see himself still involved in music in another ten years as he'd be in his forties then and rock music is "an adolescent medium".
Disc is in Ex condition, no cue sheet but track listing is as follows:
Side One
KIKI DEE BAND I've Got The Music In Me - BRIAN PROTHEROE Pinball - 10cc Silly Love - PAPER LACE Black Eyed Boys - KOKOMO I'm Sorry Babe - HUDSON FORD Free Spirit
Side Two
Interview with MICK JAGGER, bleeding into ROLLING STONES It's Only Rock'n'Roll - 10cc Old Wild Men - KOKOMO It Ain't Cool To Be Cool - BRYAN FERRY Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (then the disc finishes with a brief ad for the show over a reprise of Kiki Dee's I've Got The Music In Me)
