Description

Christmas Salute from You National Guard.     Sleeve VG, Record VG+.
The National Guard assembled this promo-only LP in the mid-sixties and sent it out to the few radio stations that were on their "mailing list".  After all, it was the sixties and not all of the stations were DoD-friendly.  Really cool album with introductions by the star/groupmember followed by one of their Christmas songs (all the songs are full-length).

I have never seen these intros/tracks show up on any rarities compilation or bootleg LP so there must have been very few pressed.  It comes in a printed heavyweight paper sleeve with light handling wear and small splits at the bottom and one side.  Kinda neat is the picture of the Beach Boys with Brian and Bruce both included.

I've included a short clip of the Beach Boys track with the intro by Al Jardine.

Spoken intros by person in parentheses

  1. Glen Campbell (Glen Campbell) - I'll Be Home For Christmas
  2. Johnny Mann Singers (Si Zentner) - O Little Town Of Bethlehem
  3. Nancy Wilson (Nancy Wilson) - Christmas Waltz
  4. Beach Boys (Al Jardine) - Christmas Day
  5. Tony Bennett (Tony Bennett) - The Christmas Song
  6. Ferrante & Teicher (Dionne Warwick) - The Little Drummer Boy
  7. Vic Damone (Vic Damone) - Deck The Halls
  8. Four Seasons (Frankie Valli) - White Christmas
  9. Guy Lombardo (Guy Lombardo) - Hark The Herald Angels Sing
  10. Stan Kenton (Bobbie Gentry) - The Twelve Days Of Christmas
