Description
Up for auction is a copy of The Beach Boys Holland LP, released in 1973 on Reprise, cat no REP 54008, a German pressing. The first run of German pressings feature the song “We Got Love” as the final track on side 1, rather than “Sail On Sailor” as the opener. This edition was swiftly withdrawn from sale & recalled, due -according to Warners execs- to the perceived “lack of a hit”. It’s estimated that there are probably no more than 200 copies of this edition pressed. Note: this is not a test pressing or promo copy, but a finished stock edition. We Got Love has never appeared on any other pressing of the LP, though a live recording appeared on their “In Concert” LP, making this edition incredibly rare.
Condition: vinyl looks barely played. Cover has a minor ding or two, but has no real damage to mention. EX all round. The “Mount Vernon & Fairway” EP isn’t present, but the lyric insert is, and is also EX.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item in pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence!
