If anyone is interested I also have the 1966 first issue of Pet Sounds at a different listing however it is in VG condition with a G cover but at a much lower price.

I have kept this album in a protective plastic sleeve so it still looks in excellent condition. For the vinyl I have switched to using an inner plastic sleeve that has the Warner Bros WB logo on it but I will also include the original paper sleeve. I do not like paper sleeves because they cause surface scratches & deposit paper dust on the vinyl which needs to be cleaned off every time I remove the LP from one of them. This dust can also become embedded in the grooves which can be difficult to remove.

I have listened to this album twice recently and I am giving it a Near Mint play-grade. Visual inspection of the vinyl is EX bordering on NM due to paper scuffing from the inner sleeve. As mentioned before the Cover is in EX condition.

 Before buying please look at all of the pictures using the magnifier and zoom for the best inspection. Double-clicking on any picture will bring up a larger picture slide-show.

This will be shipped in a larger more protective box than an LP Mailer and it will also be packed the 'Rockaway Records Method' which means that the vinyl (still left in its sleeve) will be taken out of the cover and placed alongside the cover. I am not certain about the release date of this LP. Some say that it was included with the Beach Boys LP 'Carl & The Passions So Tough' 1972 album but the Pet Sounds covers on those issues have a white border. 1972 is printed on the brown bordered MS 2197 issue's album cover but  according to Brother Records Album Discography: "This is a standalone reissue of Pet Sounds: 

MS 2197 - Pet Sounds - Beach Boys [1974] Reissue of Capitol DT/T 2458. Wouldn't It Be Nice/You Still Believe In Me/That's Not Me/Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)/I'm Waiting For The Day/Let's Go Away For Awhile/Sloop John B.//God Only Knows/I Know There's An Answer/Here Today/I Just Wasn't Made For These Times/Pet Sounds/Caroline, No".
