Description
The Association "New Memories" limited edition LP (Hitbound/Realistic 1005; stereo assumed but not stated). This obscure 1983 LP, which was pressed for the Radio Shack electronics chain and which apparently was not commercially released otherwise, and which is not available on CD (to my knowledge), features new recordings by five of the original members of the Association (Terry Kirkman, Jules Alexander, Jim Yester, Rus Giguere and Ted Buechel Jr.) plus later member Larry Ramos. The group does re-makes of 1950s and 1960s hit songs, including "Love Me Tender," "Oh Pretty Woman," "The Dock of the Bay" and others, none of which appeared on their original 1960s and 1970s albums. In addition, there is one song each on the LP by Mike Love of the Beach Boys, Bobby Vee and Mary Macgregor, none of which appear elsewhere (to my knowledge). Mike Love does a cover of the old Lloyd Price hit "Stagger Lee." The record is an original pressing in VG++ condition on the red labels, which are clean. The cover, which has a crease in the upper left corner, is otherwise clean and in VG++ condition. Winner pays $4 for Media Mail or $10 for Priority postage in the U.S. Postage is $15 for airmail to Canada or $21 for airmail to any other country outside the U.S. PLEASE NOTE: The U.S. Post Office on Jan. 27, 2013, increased by about 50 percent the cost of mailing one LP out of the country, so the my current international shipping rates reflect that huge increase.
