ITEM:   Rare and in demand -   " Surfer Girl " , by The Beach Boys .   Original 1963 STEREO Pressing on the Capitol FDS label, catalog number ST-1981.

COMMENTS / CONDITION:   This LP came from a private collection - it is not a beat up item bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was test played.

Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.

Vinyl is in strong VG++ / Excellent condition, with a beautiful full gloss luster. A close inspection under a bright light source revealed a few wispy  scuffs that are cosmetic only and do not affect the listening enjoyment of the performances. On side 2, Track 6, there is a small hairline mark that is not audible. There are no warps, deep scratches, groove wear, cracks, or chips. On my older system, both sides played quietly with excellent/near mint audio quality. There were no tics, pops, skips, surface noise, or groove lock. NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.

Both labels are in excellent condition, with no peeling edges, rips, writing, or stains.

The inner sleeve is a vinyl lined anti-static sleeve.

I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.

Original studio cover is in  VG+  condition, still encased in snug shrink wrap ( opened ). There is a small retail price sticker and a sticker that appears to be an inventory number for a private collection on the front shrink wrap. Graphics are crisp and bright, with no fading. Some visible age spotting/tanning underneath the shrink wrap is present around the edges of both sides, especially around the opening edge. I have not tried to remove them. Spine is straight and undamaged. All seams are strong with no splits. This is not a cut-out - No punch holes, notches, or clipped corners.
