VERY 1st PRINT SLEEVE

This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker, New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.

Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got through the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

SOUNDS GREAT

She does carry quite a few visible light marks. After playing the whole record all the way through, I found a soft revolutionary pop on ‘Boys’ but after a bit of delicate work on this mark, the needle to plays over it on a slightly heavier setting-with a tiny bit of drop-out in audio, but nothing bad at all. Following this little patch, I noticed a revolutionary light and soft pop on the next track: ‘Ask Me Why.’ As well as the odd and very occasional soft pop throughout the rest of playback..These certainly didn’t ruin my enjoyment, they simply reminded me I am listening to an ORIGINAL slab of vinyl, from the music defining 1960’s!

It is far from Mint, but equally far from trashed.

The album blasts out raw early Beatles with some occasional background noise in the quieter sections but not the run-ins. When the songs get going you don't really hear any-TURN HER UP!

FLAT, HEAVY, SHINY AND ALL ORIGINAL!

Labels:

VG+.

There is minimal central hole wear, as seen in the pictures. With just light spindle marks visible when angled towards the light.

Other than that the labels stand out nice and clean, with no writing or rips.

CORRECT 4th PRESS:

No "Recording First Published" text and no 33 1/3 next to the catalogue number at 9 O'Clock.

These labels are getting harder to find as only a relatively small amount were pressed....

**THEY ARE AS RARE AS THE BLACK & GOLD LABELS!!**

RARER 1st PRINTING EJ DAY COVER

( These were produced at roughly a ratio of 1:10, compared to the usual Garrod & Lofthouse covers)

There is some wear to this cover-as you can see in the detailed images provided. With some small fingers of spidering emanating from the seams..

The corners have rubbing and knocking to them, with the bottom right seam carrying a 12cm split.

The EJ Day flipbacks have wear and the spine carries a split.

At the very least: A good filler.

ALL IN ALL THIS IS AN INCREASINGLY RARER 4TH PRESSING OF AN ICONIC ALBUM...WOULD MAKE A VERY GOOD FILLER AT THE VERY LEAST
