Here are two UK original double LP pressings of the classic "Red" & "blue" compilation albums. I have listed them individually below:


1962-1966 (Apple PCSP 717 UK Double LP 1973)

This is an original UK double LP pressing. It has a heavyweight front laminated gatefold sleeve. It comes with its original red lyric inner sleeves. These are printed on thin card. They have die-cut top corners. The records are pressed on thick vinyl & have -2/ -2/ -4/ -2 matrix stampers.The Apple labels have "The Gramophone Co.." text on them.

Gatefold Sleeve: There is some light or very mild rippling, or warping, at the top sleeve opening areas. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. VG++ condition 

Vinyl 1: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs can be seen under a strong light. The card inner sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on the vinyl on some areas. VG++ condition. The labels are in Excellent condition. There is a very small tear at the spindle hole on Side 1's label. Otherwise, next to no spindle wear.  The lyric inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is a mild crease & some light or very mild ringwear. There are no seam splits. Plays Excellent to Excellent+ overall.

Vinyl 2: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs can be seen under a strong light. The card inner sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on the vinyl on some areas. VG++ condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition & show next to no spindle wear. The lyric inner sleeve is in Near Excellent condition. There is some light or very mild ringwear. There are no seam splits. Plays Excellent to Excellent+ overall.

1967-1970 (Apple PCSP 718 UK Double LP 1973)

This is an original UK double LP pressing. It has a heavyweight front laminated gatefold sleeve. It comes with its original blue lyric inner sleeves. These are printed on thin card. They have die-cut corners. The records are pressed on thick vinyl & have -1/ -3/ -3/ -1 matrix stampers.The Apple labels have "The Gramophone Co.." text on them.

Gatefold Sleeve: There is some light or very mild warping at the top sleeve opening areas. There is some light, mild or very mild rippling on the inner gatefold. VG++ condition 

Vinyl 1: There are some light or very mild sleeve rubs can be seen under a strong light. The card inner sleeve has left some light or very mild marks on a few areas. There is one mild hairline rub mark on one side. VG++ condition. The labels are in VG++ condition. There is some mild spindle wear only. The lyric inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is a 5.5 cm seam split at the centre of the bottom edge. There is a faint strip of tape stain around this area too. Otherwise, light or very mild ringwear. Plays Excellent to Excellent+ overall.

Vinyl 2: There are some light or very mild sleeve rubs can be seen under a strong light. The card inner sleeve has left some light or very mild marks on the vinyl on a few areas. NEAR EX condition. The labels are in VG++ condition & show mild spindle wear only. The lyric inner sleeve is in Near Excellent condition. There is some light or very mild ringwear. There is a 2 cm area of rubbing wear at the centre of one side. There are no seam splits. Plays Excellent to Excellent+ overall.

    >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = As good as a copy you would buy from a shop, immaculate!

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. SOME WOULD CLASS THIS AS MINT. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.

EX Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ringwear or edgewear.

NEAR EX Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only; that barely detract from the sound quality. Cover may have slight creasing or ringwear. A very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

VG Condition = A well played but serviceable copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears. The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that these prices are as a general guideline only. For example: Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs. One parcel must not exceed 2kg (approximately 4-6 LPS).

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7". I use a cruciform box for larger orders (4-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
