Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a rare, authentic stereo copy of the American Beatles LP 'Introducing the Beatles', on the VeeJay label! Although a number of mono discs were incorrectly given stereo labels, this copy is true stereo with the S prefix on the deadwax matrix!

Introducing the Beatles is one of the most counterfeited LPs in music history. However, this copy is a 100% authentic, genuine pressing! Nearly every fake lists the Version 1 songs whilst nearly every genuine copy lists the version 2 songs. Nearly all fake stereos list the version 1 songs whereas this lists the version 2 songs. This copy has the right colour hue (read up in the description below regarding this), it has George's shadow, it has the 1/4" internal overflaps at the top and bottom of the mouth (on fakes this overflap is much longer) and the back passes the 'Honey' test. The deadwax on the record is less than 1" thick (fakes have a deadwax larger than 1") and the credit 'The Beatles' is above the spindlehole. On every fake this credit is below the spindlehole! The labels also show the word 'STEREO', something that no counterfeit labels have.

The deadwax also carries the circled MR stamp, showing that this particular pressing was produced at the Monarch record Manufacturing Company in California.

It's going to be a bit difficult to grade this cover. The reason being is that a previous owner, in a wonderful sense of descructive creativity, decided that they were going to restore the cover, and painted on this beigey pink colour. You can see the original cover colour at George's shadow which the previous owner decided not to paint over. I've taken a photo of a closeup showing the brushwork of this paint job. I've no idea if this paint can be cleaned off, I've dared not try! They've also used a red pen to fill in any wear spots over the band members and to re-fill in the title 'THE BEATLES'. Top seam has a little wear and some paper tearing at each end, but no splitting. Same with the bottom seam. Thespine has a couple of littleknocks but is holding tight with no real wear and no splitting. The back has yellowed slightly and has had some amatrue repairwork done on it in the form of a black pen filling in some of the more worn areas of the titling (again, a closeup is shown above). There's also a waterstain at the top. Overall, holding up okay. Just a shame above the DIY paint job repair.   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : FAIR

The playing surface has a pretty nice shine to it but has a fair amount of light and heavy scuffs and marks along with some light scratches. There's a small scratch at the 5 o'clock position of side 1 that runs through track 1 and half of track 2 that is feelable under the fingernail. There's also a slightly lighter scratch on side 2 at the 1 o'clock position that runs through tracks 2, 3 and a little into 4 which, although light, is feelable under the fingernail. Not really to be considered as a play copy as I'd imagine it'd play with crackle and pops, and maybe a jump.

The labels are looking okay, but have some light wear and some light but moderate spindlewear abd whitening around the centrehole. Silver text is a little rubbed but is still all fully legible..
