This auction is for a very rare 1964 stereo 1st press copy of the Beatles 4th LP, Beatles For Sale.
Back in 1964 the stereo format was still very much the underdog. Stereo discs cost more than their mono counterparts and stereophonic record players were still priced up to the point of being a highly expensive luxury. Because of this, the original stereo presses sold in far, far fewer numbers than the mono presses. Only a tiny percentage of the original 1964 1st presses were stereo and, today, are extremely rare and highly collectible!
Not only that, but this copy carries 1G / 1G mother/stampers in the deadwax! To read more about what the mother / stamper codes mean, then I suggest a quick read of this page here. The 1G/1G stampers on this record, as detailed in that link, shows that this was one of the first 300 copies off the press! In all my years of collecting I have never seen a 1G / 1G copy of any Beatles LP until now!

The cover is holding up okay for its age but is showing some general, light wear and tear. The front cover is pretty clean with just a little duit buildup and rubbing on the laminate. There's some creasing and knocks around the edges and a crease at the bottom left and a knock top left. Top seam is holding but with a small 1" split in the very middle. Bottom seam is holding tight with no damage. The spine is holding up very nicely with light, general wear (usually you find these spines pretty trashed as they're so fragile). There's some wear and laminate creases but overall is looking god with no splits. Inner gatefold is looking pretty clean with some light creases. Overall, looking nice! Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : G+/VG-
Please note that the disc has a slight bowl warp in it! The playing surface has a pretty nice shine to it but has a lot of light scuffing all over. There are some slightly heavier looking scuffs here and there but there's nothing heavy.

The labels have lovely bright, silver text and just a little, light spindlewear with a touch of whitening around the centrehole. Nice labels!
