Description
Parlophone PMC 1267, original 1965 UK mono first issue but is the second pressing of that year as denoted by the dead wax matrices XEX 579-4 and XEX 580--4.
The lamination of the front of the solid and square Garrod & Lofthouse cover extends over the spine and three flipback folds leaving a matt rear. Over the decades the matt finish has incurred age browning but it's even and looks like a tan and to me adds to the authenticity.
And no rips, tears, splits or writing to report Grading the cover for condition I give it 8.5 out of 10 for its' intactness and cleanliness notwithstanding the aforementioned ageing.
For the inner sleeve, it's the original poly-lined 'Emitex' offering. No seam splits but has some age browning and creasing plus a few small tears at one rim so easily addressed with invisible tape (I'll do it when packing).
Onto the vinyl itself which is flat and shiny and weighs 160g on the scale so is a good medium weight. The labels are quite clean as pictured with the requisite 'Sold In UK' and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' on the rims.
In room daylight the disc looks nice. Under the evil and unforgiving table light I see light scuffs and hairlines but is one of the cleanest copies I've seen in a long time. At the risk of incurring buyer wrath I'm sticking my neck out by giving the vinyl 8.5 /10 for condition. But of course send it back if you disagree.
99p start, free UK postage and generous to elsewhere.
