The Beatles - A Collection Of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies!). PCS 7016
The Beatles 1966 UK 1st STEREO pressing of the ‘A Collection Of Beatles Oldies (But Goldies!)' LP. Released on the 10th December 1966, and offered here in VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT-/EXCELLENT condition.
This, The Beatles first greatest hits compilation came about due to the fact no new material was ready in time for Christmas 1966. Hardy surprising as 'Revolver' was only released in August 1966. This LP does contain the track 'Bad Boy' which had previously been unreleased and is one of the finest beat/rock songs recorded by the Beatles.
Released on the yellow and black Parlophone label both sides feature the 'Sold in the UK....' text and have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd....' rim print. This issue comes with a rare sleeve variation which fails to state the ‘STEREO’ text in the top right hand corner as it SHOULD DO. The vinyl comes housed within the original ‘Emitex’ inner sleeve. A wonderful example of this rare 1966 stereo issue.
The Matrix numbers are:
Side 1. YEX 619-1G 2 MR
Side 2. YEX 620-1G 4 MD
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT- condition. The vinyl has a slight warp.
Both labels are in EXCELLENT+ condition.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition.
The inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT- condition. I will include an additional inner sleeve to protect the original.
