THE BEATLES
Magical Mystery Tour
Very Rare Mono FACTORY SAMPLE Press!

This listing is for a very rare and highly collectible FACTORY SAMPLE copy of the Beatles double EP 'Magical Mystery Tour' on the Parlophone label. This set is complete with white, plain wavy-top inner sleeves and booklet with blue lyric sheet, and BOTH discs in this EP set have Factory Sample stickers!

I've heard three stories as to what a Factory Sample sticker meant. The first reason was that an EMI employee wanted to by a copy using company discount. A Factory Sample sticker was stuck to the labels so that the employee couldn't then go take it to resell at full price. The second reason is that, every so often, a copy was taken from the production line, had a Factory Sample sticker stuck to the label, and then sent off to quality control. The third reason is that a copy was given a Factory Sample sticker and then sent out by EMI as a promotional / demo copy for radio stations and record shops to play and promote the release.

Whatever the reason, genuine Factory Sample stickered copies of Beatles records are very hard to find and are highly collectible! Due to the quality of todays printers, fake FS stickers are everywhere as people try to add value onto standard presses. However, please be assured that this is a GENUINE Factory Sample copy. Check out the detailed photos at the bottom of the listing for a close up of the FS stickers on both discs.

A great opportunity to pick up this incredible Factory Sample copy!

Please check out large, detailed photos of this record at the bottom of this listing.

Title Magical Mystery Tour Year of Release 1968 Catalogue Number MMT-1 Label Silver / Black Parlophone solid centre with 'Sold in UK' statement and 'Gramo' rimtext Tax Code on Disc KT Sleeve Manufacturer Garrod and Lofthouse Side 1 Matrix Number 7XCE 18435-1 Side 2 Matrix Number 7XCE 18434-1 Side 3 Matrix Number 7XCE 18436-1 Side 4 Matrix Number 7XCE 18437-2 Side 1 Stampers 11 / GPH Side 2 Stampers 4 / GLR Side 3 Stampers 3 / AA Side 4 Stampers 1 / GOG Cover Condition The cover is in VG+/EX- condition. The cover is looking very nice for its age with just a little, light wear and tear. The front and back are looking nice and clean and the bottom seams are both holding tight. The spine is perfect and undamaged. Inside is a little creamed with some light wear spots and light discoluration, but overall is looking clean and all the booklet pages are clean with no tears or writing, and all the pages are securely stapled tight. Inner Sleeve Condition The inner sleeves are in VG+/EX- condition. One sleeve has less creases and disc impression than the other as you can see in the photo below, but both are holding okay but with a little wear over the wavy opening and a little damage to the label window, but neither of the sleeves have any splits and are both holding tight and solid. Inserts Condition - Disc Condition
(VISUALLY GRADED) Disc 1 is in EX condition. The disc is looking very clean with a great, sharp shine to it. There's just some very light, faint scuffing here and there, but nothing serious at all. Looking very nice!

Disc 2 is in EX+ condition. The disc is looking beautifully clean with a lovely, sharp shine to it. There is a little very light, scuffing here and there - not quite as much as disc 1 - but its hardly noticeable. Looking really nice!

Label Condition The labels are in EX++ condition. The labels are looking spotless with no writing, stickers, wear, tear etc. The labels have just a very light, slight amount of spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole.
