Description
After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please check out my other listings and remember to save me as a favourite seller, as every week I'll be listing more and more increasingly rare, collectible and desirable Beatles records!
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a very rare mono 1st pressing of the Beatles legendary LP 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' on the yellow / black Parlophone label. This particular pressing carries the very rare 'Fourth Proof' print on the Patents Pending cover!
The 'Fourth Proof' covers are said to be the very, earliest possible covers to be pressed. Back before production started, several sleeve design prototype 'proofs' were made up to be assessed and decided upon by the group. The chosen design, the 'Fourth Proof' sleeve then had a very small 'test' run to make sure everything was okay. These initial presses carried the inverted 'Fourth Proof' text and 'AR D13217' code in the gatefold on the right overflap.
This text was removed from the design almost immediately after production began. Only a very small percentage of original mono sleeves were printed with this text and, today, is extremely hard to find!
Would look great in any Beatles collection!

The cover is showing your usual wear and tear but, overall, is holding up okay. The front is looking nice, although the rich colour looks everso slightly faded. There's a little dirt buildup on the laminate, but not very much at all and there's a little disc impression and a fair amount of creasing around the outer areas of the laminate. There's a small 1cm long tear at the bottom right which is part of a seam split from the mouth edge running in. Corners have rounded a little. Top seam is holding well with no wear or splitting. Bottom seam has a few bitsof wear with a split in the front section at the mouth edge running in about 1 1/2" or so. The spine (which is a crushed widespine) has some light wear and a couple of little tears but is holding okay and hasn't split - looks a little fragile in the middle though, with mostly legible text. Back is a lovely rich red with some light dirt buildup, a little disc impression and some creasing in the laminate around the outer edges. The inside has some sporadic creasing in the laminate but has a lovely, rich colour and has a lovely, clean, thick laminate. Nice cover overall with just some light, general wear and tear. Inner Sleeve: VG+

The original red inner sleeve is included. It's looking nice with a good, rich colour and only a very little yellowing. One of the overflaps has become unstuck at the top as can be seen in the photo above - easy repair job for the winning bidder. there's some light disc impression and wear around the opening with a little light creasing, but no real problems and no splitting. The original darker green insert is included intact with just some minimal creasing and ome slall light browning spot on the back. Overall, looking really nice!. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG++

The playing surface has a lovely shine to it with some light scuffing in places with one or two slightly heavier looking scuffs. Can't see anything bad. At some angles, around the outer areas of the playing surface, the disc has this kind of very faint shimmering - it's hard to describe.

The labels are clean, crisp and clear with bright silver text. There's a few, light, little spidery spindlemarks and a touch of whitening around eacher centrehole.

All LPs will be mailed out in a strong, corrugated cardboard LP mailing box with the LP outside the sleeve. Extra sheets of corrugated cardboard will be used where applicable and FRAGILE tape used
